06-02-2023 : K C Venugopal, the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee, claimed on Sunday that the party’s three-day 85th plenary meeting, which will begin on February 24 in Raipur, will “alter the game” in Indian politics.

Venugopal travelled to Chhattisgarh’s capital along with top party leaders Pawan Bansal and Tariq Anwar to assess the status of preparations for the plenary session that would be held at the Rajyotsava Sthal in Nava Raipur.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, Venugopal said, “We have come here to assess the state of the plenary session’s preparations, which is scheduled to take place from February 24 to 26.

This plenary will fundamentally alter Indian politics. He responded to a question by criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is currently in power at the national level. They also discussed the Bharat Jodo Yatra. One of the major political movements in the nation was the yatra. The entire BJP opposed it.

The BJP has political clout. Rahul Gandhi, a member of the Congress, led the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which started on September 7, 2022, in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, and ended on January 30, 2023, in Srinagar. On Sunday, Chhattisgarh President Minister Bhupesh Baghel, his cabinet members, and state Congress chief Mohan Markam were present to greet Venugopal, Bansal, and Anwar when they arrived at the Raipur airport.
