BBIA Delegation Holds Crucial Talks with J&K Transport Commissioner Sh. R.S. Tara on Industrial Sector Concerns

Transport Commissioner Assures Swift Resolution to Pending Industrial Sector Matters

Jammu, 11-01-2024 : A delegation from the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), led by Sh. Lalit Mahajan, President of BBIA, recently held discussions with Sh. R.S. Tara (JKAS), the newly appointed Transport Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting, attended by Sh. Tarun Singla, Sr. Vice President of BBIA, Sh. Viraaj Malhotra, General Secretary of BBIA, and Sh. Rajesh Jain, Secretary of BBIA, aimed at addressing various concerns related to the industrial sector.

During the interaction, Sh. Lalit Mahajan extended a warm welcome to Sh. R.S. Tara and highlighted several key issues impacting the industrial sector. These concerns included the subsidization of token, permit, and fitness fees for vehicles owned by industrial units, the need for a one-time amnesty to regularize time-barred cases of fitness/token for commercial vehicles, and the proposal for a two-year validity of fitness certificates for commercial vehicles, among other related matters.

In response, Sh. R.S. Tara, Transport Commissioner, J&K, assured the delegation that all pending issues concerning the industrial sector would be addressed promptly and given priority attention. This collaborative effort between BBIA and the Transport Commissioner’s office aims to enhance the functioning and address challenges within the industrial sector in the region.
