10-03-2022 : Simbal Camp (Jammu), March 10- AICC incharge J&K Affairs Smt Rajni Patil (MP) has said that Jammu and Kashmir has suffered the most under BJP regime and the people anger is wit large against the policies of the Centre Govt. and UT administration.
Addressing a large Congress rally at Simbal Camp today Smt. Patil said that the ideological fight against BJP and its policies towards Jammu and Kashmir shall be intensified in the run up to the assembly elections.
Smt. Patil was accompanied by the PCC Chief G.A. Mir, Working President Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, T.S. Bajwa (Ex-MP), APRO Sukhwant Singh Brara, DCC President Jammu Rural Hari Singh Chib, Pawan Raina, Karan Bhagat (Chairman SC Dept.), Sdr Gurdarshan Singh (Minority Dept.) Pranav Shagotra, Sahil Sharma( PCC Spokesman), Amrit Bali(Refugee Cell) and others. The function was organized by Rajinder Singh Nathu who joined Congress party along with over 100 other prominent persons.
Smt. Patil said that Congress has always stood for secularism and unity in diversity and taken care of each and every section of the society equally while BJP believes in division and polarization for vote bank politics. She said that Congress provided able leadership to the country right from independence and last Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is example of simplicity, honesty, integrity above all capability. The economic policies of congress especially Dr. Manmohan Singh took the nation to great heights and brought out 27 Crore BPL families while BJP pushed down 323 crore people to BPL category. The poor and common people are suffering a lot due to price hike and unemployed youth without jobs.
She said that Jammu and Kashmir suffered the most under BJP rule and its lost statehood and rights to job, land and status, dignity and being ruled by bureaucracy for three and half years.
She appreciated the role of the border people especially Sikh minority and refugees and said that congress shall take due care of their political and economic rights – empowerment, as congress believes in unity in diversity. She appreciated the role of organizers led by Rajinder Singh Nathu.
PCC Chief G.A. Mir lauded the people of border belt for facing the hardships boldly and stood for the nation and secular values. He assured that all sections shall be given due representation especially the Sikh minority who shall be considered for party ticket depending upon their potential wherever deserving, as earlier they used to be given representation by Congress in upper house, now abolished. He assured them full support in their relief & rehabilitation of DPs of POJK and other rights.
Mir said that congress would never shirk from its responsibility to play the role of a secular force in the Country and continue to oppose the wrong working and authoritarian policies by BJP. The people of Jammu and Kashmir would take a wise decision when elections are held, come what may, the outcome of results in other states, as people of J&K suffered most under BJP regime.
Raman Bhalla in his address appreciated the role of border population and assured that their issues would get priority in Congress. The R.S. Pura belt has been the bastion of Congress always and would reject the divisive policies of BJP. He said that Congress would always stand with border people and each and every section including the Sikh minority for the protection and promotion of their rights.
Bhalla said that the Congress is the only party which can ensure balanced and equitable development of each and every part of the sate in view of the secular and progressive approach and vision for the overall development of the state. He referred to the numerous achievements and initiatives of the Congress party during UPA regime and the coalition in the state towards the developmental and administrative as well as other measures for the welfare of the people of the state.
Mula Ram in his address referred to the historical role played by the Sikh in the Country and this border state and asked the leadership to secure their political and economic rights and give them due representation in the legislature as upper house is abolished. He criticized the anti people, anti poor, anti youth and anti farmers policies of BJP and asked the poor and downtrodden to immediately oppose wrong policies of BJP and bring long back to power in J&K.
Shri Ravinder Sharma raised the issue of refugees/DPs of POJK of 1947, 1965, 1971 and said that BJP betrayed them by meager amount instead of 30 lac per family and other reservation benefits in the package sanctioned by Congress. He also advocated for reservation benefits of POJK and Chhamb DPs as per package and Pahari reservation and on the pattern of reservation of 1% to WP children in technical courses.
