India Women March Into Asia Cup Semifinals After Crushing Pakistan by Seven Wickets

Indian bowlers restrict Pakistan to 55 before the chase is completed with ease, keeping the team unbeaten in the tournament

DUBAI, Sept 7: India’s women’s cricket team strengthened its campaign at the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Pakistan, securing a place in the semifinals.

India’s bowlers produced a clinical performance to dismiss Pakistan for just 55 runs. Shree Charani and Prema Rawat claimed three wickets apiece, while Deepti Sharma added two as the Pakistani batting line up struggled to build any partnership.

India then completed the modest chase comfortably, recording a seven-wicket win and maintaining its unbeaten run in the tournament.

The emphatic result further underlined India’s dominance in the group stage. The team had already secured convincing victories against Thailand and Hong Kong before defeating Pakistan.

India’s strong performances have put the side in an excellent position ahead of the knockout phase. The team is currently leading Group A, while the semifinal combinations will depend on the final standings in the two groups.

The bowlers’ ability to dismantle Pakistan’s batting order has emerged as one of India’s major strengths, while the batting unit has consistently finished its run chases without significant difficulty.

With the semifinals approaching, India will now look to maintain its momentum and complete a successful Asia Cup campaign.
