JAMMU, 26-04-2022 : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked an Additional Secretary for allegedly owning assets that were disproportionate to his known source of income, and searched his homes in Jammu and Reasi.
According to sources, a case FIR under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been filed against Babu Ram, who is currently employed as an Additional Secretary in the Labour and Employment Department. He is allegedly accused of amassing movable and immovable properties in excess of his known sources of income.
Following the filing of the FIR, ACB went to the Anti-Corruption Court and obtained a search warrant, after which extensive searches were conducted at both of Babu Ram’s residences.
ACB teams are said to have confiscated a number of incriminating documents during the searches, which were conducted immediately at Babu Ram’s residences in Shastri Nagar Jammu and Ward number 6 in Reasi town.
Babu Ram is currently employed with the Labour and Employment Department but has previously held positions such as Assistant Commissioner, Jammu Development Authority (JDA), ADC Reasi, Labour Commissioner Kathua, and others. Next month, he will likely reach the age of superannuation.
