Udhampur, 18-11-2024: In a disturbing incident, a man in Udhampur, J&K, allegedly killed his mother-in-law and injured his wife and sister-in-law during a violent attack at his in-laws’ home, according to police reports.
Suresh Kumar, a resident of Kiya village in the Ramnagar area, reportedly assaulted his family members with a sharp weapon late Sunday evening before fleeing the scene, leaving his mother-in-law, Shanti Devi, his wife, Lalita, and sister-in-law, Anju Devi, severely injured. Shanti Devi was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital, while the other two women were transferred to the district hospital for treatment.
A police investigation has been initiated, and efforts are underway to apprehend the accused. The brother-in-law of the suspect, Rakesh, informed police that Kumar was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attack. He also revealed that Kumar’s wife had previously argued with him, and he had been pressuring her to return home.
Authorities are collecting evidence from the crime scene to build a case against the accused to ensure he faces justice in court.
