11-12-2023 : The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) announced the suspension of all its political activities for the upcoming week. This decision reflects the party’s commitment to standing in solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in light of the recent judgment by the Supreme Court of India on the matter of Article 370.
The party’s President, Mehbooba Mufti, was slated to address various workers’ conventions as part of an ongoing public outreach program, with many such events scheduled in the coming days. Additionally, several other political activities had been planned by the party. However, in the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s verdict on Article 370, the party has chosen to cancel all political engagements for the next week.
Syed Suhail Bukhari, the Party Chief Spokesperson, emphasized the gravity of the situation and the party’s commitment to expressing unity with the people during this crucial juncture. The suspension of political activities is seen as a symbolic gesture of support for the public in the wake of the evolving legal landscape surrounding Article 370.
