Srinagar Police Seizes ₹1 Crore Property of Drug Peddler in Anantnag Crackdown

Action Taken Under NDPS Act Amid Intensified Anti-Drug Drive in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, May 26: Continuing its intensified campaign against narcotics trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Tuesday attached an immovable property worth nearly ₹1 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

According to an official statement, the attached property includes a residential house owned by Aamir Hassan Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, a resident of Bonpora Dupatyar in Bijbehara. The house has been constructed on land falling under Khasra No. 134 at Bonpora Dupatyar, Bijbehara in Anantnag district.

Police said the estimated market value of the property is approximately ₹1 crore.

The attachment was carried out under Section 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in connection with FIR No. 17/2026 registered at Police Station Shergari, Srinagar under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act.

Officials stated that the legal proceedings were completed in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Bijbehara, after fulfilling all required formalities under the law.

Authorities further clarified that the property cannot be sold, transferred, or otherwise dealt with without prior permission from the competent authority.

Reaffirming its commitment to curb the drug menace, Srinagar Police said strict legal action will continue against individuals involved in narcotics smuggling and related illegal activities across the region.

Police also appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information regarding drug peddling or narcotics networks to help build a drug free society in Jammu and Kashmir.
