ACB Jammu Initiates Probe: FIRs Registered Against Inspector and Head Constable Over Allegations of Disproportionate Assets

Jammu, 15-02-2024 : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu and Kashmir has initiated legal action by registering FIRs against Ameet Kumar Koul, an Inspector (S), and Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets. FIR No.01/2024 under section 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 has been lodged against Inspector (S) Ameet Kumar Koul at the Central Branch of ACB Jammu. This action follows a Secret Verification revealing suspicions regarding the officer’s possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Additionally, FIR No.02/2024 under sections 13(1)(b) read with 13(2) of the PC Act has been filed at the ACB Jammu Police Station against Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma.

This FIR stems from an Enquiry conducted into allegations of the official amassing disproportionate assets relative to his income. Subsequent to these legal actions, searches were conducted at the residential premises of both officials and the business establishments of Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma. These searches yielded incriminating documents and valuables, which have been seized for further investigation purposes.

The ACB continues its diligent investigation into both cases to ascertain the extent of any wrongdoing and ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
