Ban on AAC, Ittihadul Muslimeen a Landmark Step for Stability in J&K: Tarun Chugh

JAMMU, Mar 12: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today lauded the Union Government’s decision to ban ‘Jammu & Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen’ and ‘Awami Action Committee’ under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), calling it a decisive step towards ensuring lasting peace, security, and development in the Union Territory.

Chugh asserted that the move is not just a strong message against terrorism but also a pivotal measure in the Modi Government’s broader strategy to accelerate progress in Jammu & Kashmir. He highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and his administration’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, the region has witnessed a transformative shift—marked by a significant decline in disruptive activities, including stone-pelting, which once posed a serious challenge to security forces.

“The people of Jammu & Kashmir are now embracing an era of stability and development, free from the grip of extremist elements,” Chugh stated. He credited security forces for their relentless efforts in maintaining peace and reaffirmed that the Union Government remains committed to uprooting Pakistan-backed terrorist networks operating in the region.

Emphasizing the role of national security, Chugh said, “Jammu & Kashmir’s prosperity cannot be dictated by Pakistan’s ISI or its proxies. The government’s action ensures that no organization with links to separatist or terror elements is allowed to disrupt India’s unity.” He further added that the Home Ministry’s firm stance reinforces the Modi Government’s commitment to crushing anti-national forces and holding those conspiring against the country’s sovereignty accountable.

Chugh concluded by asserting that under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, India will continue to dismantle terror networks, safeguard national integrity, and pave the way for a stronger, more secure Jammu & Kashmir.
