J&K Congress Forms High-Powered Fact-Finding Committee to Assess Election Setback

Srinagar/Jammu, Oct 18, 2024: The Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President, Tariq Hameed Karra, in collaboration with the All India Congress Committee (AICC) leadership, has established a high-powered fact-finding committee. This strategic move aims to investigate the reasons behind the party’s recent defeat in the Assembly elections across the Jammu region and to develop recommendations for revitalizing and strengthening the party’s presence and influence in the area.

The committee is tasked with conducting an in-depth analysis of the factors contributing to the electoral losses, examining internal dynamics, campaign strategies, and external influences. Additionally, the committee will explore the socio-political landscape of the region, identifying areas where the party’s outreach and engagement efforts may need improvement. The ultimate goal is to propose actionable measures that will bolster the party’s organizational strength and voter base in Jammu.

The committee, headed by senior party leader Ravinder Sharma, is expected to submit its comprehensive report within 30 days. It comprises esteemed members, including Jehangir Mir, Naresh Gupta, Thakur Balwan Singh, Shah Mohd Chowdhary, Ved Mahajan, and Dina Nath Baghat. These members bring diverse expertise and regional insights to ensure a thorough and balanced assessment of the party’s performance and challenges.
