Mohanlal’s Next Film ‘Operation Ganga’ Set Against India’s Ukraine Evacuation

The Vishnu Mohan directorial will feature Arjun Rampal and Bhagyashri Borse, with Shashwat Sachdev composing the music.

KOCHI, Sept 5: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has announced his upcoming film ‘Operation Ganga’, a project inspired by India’s evacuation mission during the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The film, previously known by its working title ‘L367’, will be directed by Vishnu Mohan, whose debut feature ‘Meppadiyan’ won the National Award. The project brings together a prominent cast and creative team as production preparations move forward.

Bollywood actors Arjun Rampal and Bhagyashri Borse have joined Mohanlal in the cast. The film’s music will be composed by Shashwat Sachdev, who has recently attracted attention for his work in ‘Dhurandhar’.

The title ‘Operation Ganga’ refers to the large-scale Indian evacuation effort undertaken during the Ukraine conflict, when Indian nationals were brought home amid the intensifying military situation.

The project marks Mohanlal’s first collaboration with Vishnu Mohan and is expected to combine an emotionally driven human story with the scale of a major international crisis.

With a subject rooted in a significant real-world event, the film is likely to bring a different dimension to Malayalam cinema while also appealing to audiences beyond the regional market.

Further details about the release schedule and other members of the cast and crew are expected to be announced as the production progresses.
