Yogi Adityanath Orders Crackdown on Encroachments Across Uttar Pradesh

UP Chief Minister directs officials to ensure immediate redressal of complaints, including removal of illegal occupation of public land in Mathura.

Lucknow, Jun 22: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday instructed officials to take strict and immediate action against cases of encroachment, stressing that public complaints of illegal occupation of land or infrastructure would not be ignored.

The Chief Minister issued the directions during his Janta Darshan programme held at his official residence in Lucknow, where he met citizens from several districts and listened to their grievances related to revenue, electricity, healthcare, education, and financial assistance.

According to an official statement, a senior citizen from Mathura brought to the Chief Minister’s attention a case of road encroachment in his locality. The complainant alleged that repeated appeals to local authorities had gone unanswered.

Taking serious note of the issue, Adityanath directed the Mathura District Magistrate to personally inspect the site, verify the facts on ground, and ensure immediate removal of any illegal occupation if confirmed. He also instructed that action must be taken against those found responsible.

The Chief Minister emphasized that encroachment-related complaints must not be neglected at any level of administration. He directed officials from district administration, police, municipal bodies, and development authorities to maintain regular vigilance and act promptly on such matters.

During the interaction, several citizens also raised concerns regarding basic civic issues, including access to electricity connections, healthcare services, school-related problems, and pending revenue matters. The Chief Minister assured all complainants that their grievances would be addressed in a time-bound manner.

Reiterating his government’s commitment, Adityanath stated that the administration stands with all sections of society and will ensure justice and relief to every affected citizen.

He also expressed concern for elderly citizens, women, and children who attended the programme amid rising temperatures, advising them to take precautions and avoid unnecessary exposure to extreme heat during peak hours.

The Janta Darshan programme continues to serve as a direct public grievance redressal platform, where the Chief Minister regularly interacts with citizens and issues on-the-spot directions to officials for resolution of problems.
