LUCKNOW: Days after raising concerns over protests by industrial workers in Noida, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reiterated that any attempt to trigger industrial unrest in Uttar Pradesh will be dealt with firmly. He warned officials about possible fresh efforts to disturb industrial peace between April 30 and May 2.
During a late-night high-level review meeting in Lucknow, the Chief Minister emphasized that maintaining stability in the state’s industrial environment remains a top priority. He described previous protests as a “conspiracy to derail progress” and cautioned authorities to stay alert against similar disruptions.
“Industrial unrest in the state will not be acceptable under any circumstances. Any such malicious attempts must be firmly foiled,” the Chief Minister stated, directing officials to act proactively and ensure law enforcement readiness.
Focus on Examination Security and Coordination
Reviewing preparations for the upcoming Home Guard Recruitment Examination scheduled from April 25 to 27, Adityanath stressed the need for stringent measures to maintain transparency and fairness. Noting that the examination is being conducted for the first time by the Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, he called for enhanced vigilance at every level.
District Magistrates, especially those recently posted, were instructed to work in close coordination with divisional commissioners and police authorities. The Chief Minister underlined that there would be zero tolerance for any compromise with the integrity or confidentiality of the examination process.
He also directed continuous monitoring of social media platforms to curb misinformation. Authorities were told to take immediate action against individuals spreading rumours or attempting to mislead candidates.
Ensuring Candidate Welfare and Smooth Logistics
Acknowledging the large number of candidates expected to appear for the examination, the Chief Minister instructed officials to make adequate arrangements at all centres. These include the availability of cold drinking water, emergency medical facilities, and proper traffic management to avoid congestion.
The emphasis, he noted, should be on creating a secure and comfortable environment for examinees while ensuring discipline and order throughout the process.
Alert Over Potential Social Tensions
The Chief Minister also flagged intelligence inputs suggesting that antisocial elements may attempt to incite caste based tensions in certain districts. He directed officials to remain vigilant and act swiftly to prevent any escalation.
Maintaining communal harmony, he said, is essential for sustaining development and ensuring peace across the state.
Heatwave Precautions and Industrial Safety
With a heatwave sweeping across parts of Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath instructed authorities to conduct inspections of ammunition depots and fireworks factories. The objective is to eliminate risks of accidental fires or explosions and ensure strict adherence to safety standards.
Officials were told to take preventive measures seriously, given the increased vulnerability during extreme weather conditions.
Petroleum Supply and Market Monitoring
Reviewing the availability of petroleum products, the Chief Minister reassured that supply and distribution across the state remain normal. He urged officials to communicate this clearly to the public to prevent panic.
District administrations were directed to hold regular meetings with petroleum company representatives to monitor supply chains. Special attention was also ordered in districts bordering Nepal to curb black marketing and hoarding activities.
Addressing Smart Meter Concerns
Responding to complaints regarding smart electricity meters, Adityanath informed that an expert committee has been constituted to examine the issues. Until the committee submits its findings, he directed electricity distribution companies to organize feeder-wise special camps across districts.
These camps, to be held over a week, will focus on resolving consumer grievances on the spot, ensuring transparency and improving public confidence in the system.
The Chief Minister’s directives reflect a comprehensive approach to governance, combining strict law enforcement with administrative preparedness. His focus on preventing industrial unrest in Uttar Pradesh, while simultaneously addressing public concerns and safety, highlights the state government’s effort to maintain stability and support ongoing development initiatives.
