Jammu, 26.11.23: The 74th Constitution Day was fervently celebrated by the All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations and its affiliated wings, including Dalit OBC Minority and National SC ST OBC Students & Youth Front J&K, at Perm Resort Muthi, Jammu. In a comprehensive address, RK Kalsotra, State President of the Confederation, delved into the significant facets of the Constitution, acknowledging the profound contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He underscored the transformative impact of the Constitution, emphasizing the principles of equality, liberty, fraternity, and justice that Dr. Ambedkar meticulously embedded for universal application, transcending societal divisions.
Senior Advocate Jameel Kazmi paid tribute to Dr. Ambedkar, hailing the Constitution as a visionary roadmap safeguarding languages, art, and cultures. Leaders like S Narinder Singh Khalsa expressed gratitude for the constitutional protection of religious rights, while Ms. Arun Gai attributed women’s achievements to constitutional provisions. The event witnessed accolades for the Constitution’s role in propelling the nation forward, with Gitan Ram urging every Indian to protect its spirit.
A N Bhagat equated the constitution to religious books, emphasizing its empowerment across various spheres. CEO Dina Nath lauded the Constitution as the finest document for governing the country, urging vigilance against any attempts to violate its provisions. The enduring strength of the Constitution, given by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, was highlighted by Tarsem Khullar. Principal Amar Bhagat emphasized the collective duty of all Indians to safeguard the Constitution’s spirit and ethos.
Dr. Sameer Chaudhary acknowledged the Constitution’s violation through the scrapping of Article 370 and 35A, calling for rectification. Bansi Ch, Convenor OBC Mahasabha, praised the constitution as the world’s best, focusing on fraternity, equality, unity, and justice. Roshan Ch emphasized the need for vigilance to protect constitutional rights, directly impacting the region’s future. Leaders across various segments, including Ashu Peter Mattoo, Vijay Kumar, and Ramesh Sarmal, stressed the duty to educate the younger generation about the Constitution’s principles.
