District administration cites law and order concerns; ban on public gatherings, provocative speeches, and weapons in force.

Doda, Sep 10: Authorities in Doda district on Tuesday imposed prohibitory restrictions under Section 163 of the BNSS, 2023, citing concerns over law and order, possible unlawful gatherings, and threats to public peace.

According to an order issued by Additional District Magistrate Doda, Anil Kumar Thakur, the assembly of four or more persons has been banned across the district until further notice.

The order also prohibits individuals from delivering provocative speeches, raising inflammatory slogans, or making gestures that could disturb peace and communal harmony. Carrying lathis or sharp edged weapons in public has been strictly barred.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, has been directed to ensure effective enforcement of the restrictions. Officials further warned that any violation of the prohibitory orders will attract strict punitive action under relevant legal provisions.
