PM Modi’s 3-Day Visit To Northeast, Other States To Inaugurate ₹71,850 Crore Projects

Multi-state tour to boost infrastructure, connectivity, clean energy, and regional development.

New Delhi, Sept 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-day visit to five states Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar from September 13 to 15, during which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of projects worth ₹71,850 crore, the Prime Minister’s Office announced on Friday.

The tour will include development projects spanning railways, roadways, energy, health, education, petrochemicals, and sports infrastructure.

In Mizoram, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth over ₹9,000 crore in Aizawl, including major road projects, a river bridge, a multipurpose sports hall, and an LPG bottling plant. He will also flag off three new express trains Sairang-Delhi Rajdhani Express, Sairang-Guwahati Express, and Sairang-Kolkata Express connecting Mizoram directly with Delhi and Kolkata.

In Manipur, the Prime Minister will launch projects worth more than ₹7,300 crore, including urban road upgrades, five national highway projects, the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) project, and women’s hostels at nine locations. He will also inaugurate projects worth over ₹1,200 crore in Imphal.

At Churachandpur and Imphal, PM Modi will address public gatherings, highlighting initiatives to strengthen connectivity and improve quality of life in the region.

In Assam, the Prime Minister will participate in the centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati and launch projects worth over ₹18,530 crore, including Darrang Medical College & Hospital and the Assam Bioethanol Plant at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). He will also lay the foundation stone for a Polypropylene Plant to expand the petrochemical sector in the state.

On September 15, PM Modi will inaugurate the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference-2025 in Kolkata, reaffirming India’s defence and security priorities.

In Bihar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new terminal building of Purnea Airport and launch projects worth around ₹36,000 crore. A key highlight will be the launch of the National Makhana Board, aimed at boosting makhana production, processing, exports, and farmer welfare.

This extensive multi-state tour underscores the government’s focus on infrastructure, clean energy, industrial growth, and regional development, paving the way for India’s long-term economic and strategic goals.
