Ramdev Hails PM Modi’s GST Cut as Key Step Toward Viksit Bharat
Yoga guru praises GST reforms for boosting savings, consumption, and India’s self-reliance vision.
NEW DELHI, Sept 22: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent GST reforms, calling the move a “historic step” toward realizing a developed and self-reliant India.
Speaking on the announcement, Ramdev said the reduction of GST on numerous products from 12% or 18% to 5% would directly benefit households, allowing citizens to save more and stimulate economic growth. He emphasized that lower taxes will boost consumption, strengthen businesses, and energize the nation’s economy.
“This is a crucial step toward the Prime Minister’s vision of building a developed India by 2047,” Ramdev remarked. He also praised Modi for promoting Swadeshi products, noting that widespread adoption of indigenous goods would lay a strong foundation for self-reliance.
Ramdev further explained that these reforms go beyond taxation; they are about empowering citizens. By easing the financial burden, the government aims to ensure prosperity while encouraging savings and economic participation. “The Prime Minister has always worked for the well-being of the people. This GST relief is yet another example of his commitment,” he said.
Concluding his remarks, the yoga guru highlighted the long-term vision behind the reforms, adding that combining GST relief with support for local products will bring India closer to its goal of becoming a developed nation by its centenary of independence.
