Alert in border villages as authorities intensify operations to prevent potential airdrops of weapons or narcotics
Samba/Jammu, Oct 4: Security forces have launched a search operation after a Pakistani drone was spotted hovering over a forward village along the International Border (IB) in Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Saturday.
The drone-like object was reportedly seen coming from the Pakistani side and hovered over Nanga village in the Ramgarh sector late Friday, raising alarms in the border area.
Officials said security forces and police teams were immediately deployed to the area to ensure there was no airdrop of weapons, narcotics, or other contraband from across the border.
The search operation was ongoing at the time of the last reports, with security heightened in adjoining villages as a precautionary measure to safeguard residents and prevent any cross-border incidents.
Authorities have urged local residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the border.
