Centre approves 3% DA hike for employees, raises rate to 58% from July 1
Lakhs of employees, pensioners to get higher DA as government raises it to 58%
New Delhi, Oct 6: The Central Government on Monday announced a 3 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees, raising the rate from 55 percent to 58 percent of the Basic Pay, with effect from July 1, 2025. The decision, which comes as a major relief amid rising inflation, will benefit lakhs of central government employees and pensioners across the country.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure), the revised DA will apply to all civilian employees, as well as personnel serving in the Defence and Railway services. The memorandum added that separate detailed orders for Defence and Railway staff will be issued by the respective ministries in due course.
