Amit Shah Chairs High-Level Meeting To Review Security Situation In Jammu & Kashmir

Home Minister chairs high-level meeting with top security and administrative officials; stresses zero tolerance against terrorism and focus on development.

New Delhi, Oct 9: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a high level meeting to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, with a focus on counter terror operations and developmental progress across the Union Territory, officials said.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat, CRPF DG GP Singh, and BSF DG Daljit Singh Chawdhary, along with other senior officials from the Centre and the UT administration.

Discussions centered on the prevailing security scenario in the Pir Panjal region, recent anti-terror operations, and the status of key development projects under central schemes. The review comes amid intensified counter insurgency operations following the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year.

Reiterating the government’s zero tolerance policy towards terrorism, Shah directed all security agencies to maintain close coordination and ensure the complete dismantling of terror networks. He also underscored the need to sustain peace and stability in the region to support the return of tourism and investment.

This was the second major review meeting chaired by the Home Minister in recent weeks, the previous one being held on September 1.
