Trump Claims He Ended 8 Wars, Including India-Pakistan Conflict, After Missing Nobel Peace Prize
Trump asserts his peace efforts saved millions of lives, adds Israel-Gaza to his tally
New York, Oct 13: After missing out on the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, US President Donald Trump has claimed that he has successfully resolved eight wars, including the long standing conflict between India and Pakistan. Trump emphasized that his efforts were aimed at saving lives, not winning accolades.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump said he had previously claimed to have resolved seven conflicts but has now added the Israel-Gaza crisis to the list, making it eight. He also hinted at plans to address the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
“This will be my eighth war that I have solved, and I hear there is a war now going on between Pakistan and Afghanistan. I said, I’ll have to wait till I get back. I am doing another one. Because I am good at solving wars. I am good at making peace,” Trump said.
The President further claimed that most of these conflicts were resolved “within a day,” highlighting the scale and speed of his peace initiatives. “We saved millions of lives. Think about India, Pakistan, think about some of the wars that were going on for years one going for 31, one going for 32, one going for 37 years and I got every one of those done, for the most part, within a day,” he added.
Addressing the Nobel Committee, Trump noted that the award announced was for 2024, while his peace efforts occurred in 2025. “In all fairness to the Nobel Committee, it was for 2024. This was picked for 2024. I did this not for Nobel. I did this for saving lives,” he said.
Trump has repeatedly claimed credit for mediating the India-Pakistan ceasefire announced on May 10, following intense talks mediated by Washington. However, India has maintained that the understanding to end hostilities resulted from direct discussions between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two countries.
The India-Pakistan ceasefire came after four days of heightened cross-border tensions, including India’s Operation Sindoor on May 7, which targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.
Trump’s latest statements underscore his continued focus on positioning himself as a global peace broker ahead of international attention on his diplomatic interventions.
