Light Rain, Snow Forecast in J&K on Nov 4–5; MeT Advises Farmers to Halt Field Work
The Meteorological Department forecasts a brief wet spell with possible thunderstorms and a temperature drop across the Union Territory next week.
Srinagar, Nov 1: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar (MeT) has predicted mainly dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir till November 3, followed by a brief spell of light rain and snowfall in parts of the Union Territory next week.
According to the MeT forecast, weather conditions will remain largely dry from November 1 to 3 across both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. However, a change is expected on November 4 and 5, with generally cloudy skies and the likelihood of light rain or snow over higher reaches at scattered locations, particularly during the evening and night of November 4, continuing till the forenoon of November 5.
The department further predicted a return to dry conditions from November 6 to 13, with no significant precipitation expected during the period.
In its advisory, the MeT department cautioned about possible thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at isolated places on the evening of November 4. It also warned of a notable dip in both day and night temperatures from November 5 onwards.
Farmers have been advised to suspend agricultural and field operations on November 4 and 5 to minimize weather-related risks and safeguard their crops.
