For years, it has been a tradition for the superstar to greet his fans from the balcony of his iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, on his birthday. However, this year, authorities advised the actor against the gesture due to safety concerns arising from uncontrollable crowds.
Taking to social media, SRK expressed regret over the decision, writing, “Have been advised by authorities that I will not be able to step out and greet all you lovely people who have been waiting for me. My deepest apologies… it is for everyone’s safety due to crowd control issues.”
Despite the cancellation of his public appearance, Shah Rukh arranged a private, closed-door fan meet in Mumbai to celebrate with a select group of admirers. Dressed casually in a grey beanie and glasses, the superstar interacted warmly with attendees, sharing moments of gratitude and joy.
Later, he shared a video on Instagram and X, thanking fans for their unwavering love. “Thank you for making my birthday special as always. Full of gratitude… and those of you I couldn’t meet, I will see you soon in theatres and at the next birthday. Love u…” he wrote.
However, when Shah Rukh briefly stepped outside the event venue to wave at fans waiting nearby, the situation quickly grew chaotic. Several fans surged forward, attempting to get close to him. Security teams swiftly stepped in, forming a protective ring around the actor and escorting him away from the growing frenzy.
Authorities later confirmed that the situation was brought under control without any major incidents. Shah Rukh’s 60th birthday, while marked by overwhelming fan enthusiasm, also highlighted the growing challenges of crowd management at such large-scale gatherings.
