Shehnaaz Gill Opens Up About Betraying Ex-Boyfriend, Says ‘People Fail To Meet Expectations’

Mumbai, Nov 7 : Actor singer Shehnaaz Gill, who rose to fame with Bigg Boss 13, has opened up about her past relationship and revealed that she once betrayed her partner because “the vibe wasn’t matching.” In a candid conversation with NDTV, the actress shared how unmet expectations and emotional imbalance led her to end things.
“I have. In love. Not otherwise. I only did it because the vibe wasn’t matching. When you expect something from someone and they don’t meet those expectations, I can’t just keep on giving. I believe in give and take,” Shehnaaz said. “If someone can’t love you back, what’s the point? You’re wasting your time.”
The actress further explained that she values understanding, independence, and open-mindedness in a relationship. “I want my partner to be supportive and give me space. We should be able to talk freely, travel together, and appreciate each other’s work without distractions,” she said.
Shehnaaz also shared her views on financial equality in relationships, stating that she prefers splitting bills. “If we’re on holiday, I believe in sharing the expenses. Men often have a problem with that they think, ‘Why your money?’ I wonder if it’s insecurity that a woman can pay for herself. I’m very particular about these things,” she added.
While Shehnaaz was once linked to her Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant and late actor Sidharth Shukla, she has largely remained private about her personal life since his passing in 2021.
On the work front, Shehnaaz Gill was last seen in the Punjabi film Ikk Kudi, directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, featuring Nirmal Rishi, Harby Sangha, and Udaybir Sandhu. The film hit theatres on October 31.
