Red Fort Blast: Delhi Police Files FIR Under UAPA and Explosives Act

Nine Killed in High Intensity Explosion Near Red Fort; Delhi on High Alert

New Delhi, Nov 11: Delhi Police on Tuesday registered an FIR under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Explosives Act in connection with the deadly blast near Red Fort that claimed nine lives, officials said.

Raids are underway at multiple locations across the city as authorities intensify investigations. The national capital has been placed on high alert, with heightened security at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals.

According to senior police officials, the FIR has been filed at Kotwali police station under Sections 16 and 18 of the UAPA, which pertain to punishment and conspiracy related to terror attacks, alongside relevant provisions of the Explosives Act and the BNS.

The explosion occurred on Monday evening when a slow moving car detonated at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station. The blast killed at least nine people and damaged several nearby vehicles, sending shockwaves across the city.
