J&K Bypolls: Nagrota Sees 34.47% Turnout, Budgam Records 21.74% by 11 AM
Early voting trends indicate active participation in Nagrota, while Budgam turnout expected to rise
Srinagar, Nov 11: Voting proceeded steadily on Tuesday morning across Jammu & Kashmir’s Nagrota and Budgam constituencies in the ongoing bypolls, with notable turnout figures recorded by 11 a.m., officials said.
Nagrota Assembly Constituency (AC-77) saw an early voter turnout of approximately 34.47%, signaling robust participation in the initial hours of polling. In Budgam Assembly Constituency (AC-27), turnout stood at 21.74% by the same time, with officials optimistic that more voters would arrive as the day progresses.
Despite chilly weather in several areas, polling continued smoothly, with security personnel deployed across both constituencies to ensure peaceful and orderly voting.
A total of 17 candidates are contesting the bypolls, including National Conference’s Aga Syed Mehmood, Peoples Democratic Party’s Aga Syed Muntazir, BJP’s Aga Syed Mohsin, among others.
