Delhi Police Detain Three in Terror Module Case, Including Two Al-Falah University Doctors
Coordinated raids in Haryana lead to arrests as probe into white-collar terror module intensifies
New Delhi, Nov 15: Delhi Police has detained three individuals in connection with the terror module linked to the Red Fort car explosion, including two doctors from Haryana’s Al-Falah University, officials said on Saturday. The doctors, identified as Mohammad and Mustakim, were known associates of Dr Umar Nabi, the driver of the explosive-laden car.
The detentions followed coordinated operations on Friday night by the Delhi Police Special Cell and central agencies across Dhauj, Nuh, and surrounding areas in Haryana. The Special Cell, assisted by a National Investigation Agency (NIA) team, apprehended the two doctors from Nuh.
Sources revealed that the detained doctors were in contact with Dr Muzammil Ganaie, already arrested in connection with the broader white-collar terror module probe. One of the doctors was in Delhi on the day of the Red Fort blast for an interview at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), officials added. Investigators are currently interrogating Mohammad and Mustakim to determine the extent of their involvement in the terror network.
In a parallel operation in Nuh, authorities also detained a man named Dinesh alias ‘Dabbu’ for selling fertilizers without a license. The investigation is examining whether his activities were connected to the terror module, which reportedly pooled around Rs 26 lakh and spent Rs 3 lakh to purchase NPK fertilizer, a key ingredient for IEDs.
Separately, officials noted that Dr Shaheen Sayeed, another Al-Falah University doctor arrested in the case, had applied for a passport recently. Police conducted verification at the university hostel on November 3, photographing her as part of standard procedures. Investigators are examining whether her passport application has any relevance to the ongoing probe.
