India Sets Up 24×7 Control Room After Madinah Bus Accident Involving Umrah Pilgrims
Jeddah, Nov 17: India has activated a 24×7 control room to assist families affected by the Madinah bus accident involving Indian Umrah pilgrims, which occurred late last night near the holy city in Saudi Arabia.
The Consulate General of India in Jeddah released emergency helpline numbers for immediate assistance: 8002440003 (Toll-Free), 00966122614093, 00966126614276, and 00966556122301 (WhatsApp).
“We express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families,” the Consulate said in an official statement.
The Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are coordinating closely with the Saudi Haj and Umrah Ministry, local authorities, and Umrah operators to streamline support efforts.
A dedicated team of consulate officials and Indian community volunteers has been deployed across hospitals and key locations to monitor the situation and provide ground-level assistance.
Authorities added that both the Embassy and Consulate are also collaborating with officials in Telangana, where several affected families are based, to ensure all necessary support reaches them promptly.
