NIA Produces Red Fort Blast Accused Before Delhi Court
Media barred from proceedings as agency produces suspect linked to November 10 explosion
New Delhi, Nov 17: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday produced Amir Rashid Ali, an accused in the Red Fort blast case, before a Delhi court. Ali was brought before the Principal District and Sessions Judge amid heightened security.
Mediapersons were not permitted to enter the courtroom during the proceedings, and further details on the hearing are awaited.
The November 10 blast near the Red Fort, caused by an explosives-laden car, claimed 13 lives and left several others injured. Investigations later revealed that the vehicle was being driven by Dr. Umar Nabi from Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, who is believed to have ties to a “white-collar” terror module earlier busted in Faridabad, Haryana.
The NIA continues to probe the wider network behind the attack.
