Trump Declares All Biden Autopen Signed Documents, Including Pardons, ‘Null and Void’
Former president claims all documents signed via autopen by Joe Biden lack legal effect, including pardons for family and high profile figures.
US, Dec 03 : Former U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that all official documents signed by President Joe Biden using an autopen are “null, void, and of no further force or effect.” Trump made the announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social, claiming that the practice demonstrates Biden’s inability to control the executive office.
The autopen is a device used to replicate a person’s signature accurately and has been employed by both Republican and Democratic presidents. In his post, Trump stated:
“Any and all Documents, Proclamations, Executive Orders, Memorandums, or Contracts, signed by Order of the now infamous and unauthorized ‘AUTOPEN,’ within the Administration of Joseph R. Biden Jr., are hereby null, void, and of no further force or effect.”
Trump further warned:
“Anyone receiving ‘Pardons,’ ‘Commutations,’ or any other Legal Document so signed, please be advised that said Document has been fully and completely terminated, and is of no Legal effect.”
Trump has repeatedly criticized Biden for using the autopen, citing concerns over the president’s age, mental state, and lack of direct involvement in executive decisions. He has claimed that Biden aides often made key decisions without his knowledge.
In the final hours of his presidency, Biden issued a series of preemptive pardons, including for family members brothers James and Frank, sister Valerie, and their spouses as well as high-profile figures such as General Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and several members of Congress involved in the January 6 Capitol investigation. These pardons were intended to protect Biden’s family and political allies from potential legal action by the incoming Trump administration.
The move is the latest in ongoing political clashes between Trump and Biden, highlighting disputes over presidential powers and the use of the autopen in official governance.
