Video of ASI Ghulam Ali assaulting rider in Doda sparks FIR and police probe
Jammu, Dec 6: An assistant sub-inspector in Doda has been booked after a video allegedly showing him physically assaulting a two-wheeler rider in broad daylight went viral on social media.
The incident reportedly took place on December 3, prompting the victim, Anzar Majid Malik, to lodge a written complaint at the DH Doda police post. The complaint alleged that ASI Ghulam Ali, a resident of Sadeeqabad, wrongfully restrained and assaulted him.
Acting on the complaint, police registered an FIR under relevant sections of law at the Doda police station and initiated an investigation.
A police statement said, “Upholding its zero-tolerance policy towards any misconduct within the force, the due legal process has been set in motion. Further investigation in the case is underway.”
