Lt Governor extends greetings on Tibetan New Year, highlighting harmony and traditional celebrations

Leh, Dec 20: Ladakh Lt Governor Kavinder Gupta on Saturday extended his warm wishes to the people of Ladakh on the occasion of Losar, the traditional Tibetan New Year.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the L-G wrote:
“On the auspicious occasion of Losar, the traditional New Year celebrated with devotion & joy across Ladakh, I extend my warmest greetings & best wishes to the people of Ladakh & all those observing this festival. May the Losar usher in peace, prosperity, and harmony for all.”

Losar is a vibrant festival in Ladakh, celebrated with prayers, traditional music, masked dances (cham), feasting, and rituals that symbolize the welcoming of prosperity and the banishing of evil spirits. The festival holds deep cultural and religious significance for the Buddhist community in the region.

Lt Governor Gupta’s message emphasizes peace, harmony, and prosperity, reflecting the spirit of unity and devotion that marks the celebrations across Ladakh.
