J&K NIA Court Seizes Land of US-Based Kashmiri Lobbyist “Dr Fai” Amid UAPA Case
Srinagar, Dec 23: A special NIA court in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday ordered the attachment of over 1.5 kanals of land belonging to US-based Kashmiri lobbyist Ghulam Nabi Shah, also known as “Dr Fai,” in connection with a 2020 terror funding case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Judge Yahaya Firdous passed the order after Assistant Public Prosecutor Mohammad Iqbal Rather filed an application seeking property attachment, noting that Fai had already been declared an absconder by the court.
The court directed the Budgam district collector to attach immovable property, including land measuring one kanal and two marlas in village Wadwan (Khewat No. 60, Survey No. 466) and 11 marlas in village Chattabugh (Khewat No. 136, Survey No. 343). Authorities have been asked to take possession immediately while ensuring revenue officials assist in demarcating the property.
The Budgam Senior Superintendent of Police has been instructed to provide necessary support to the district collector during the attachment process.
