Vaibhav Suyavanshi Smashes 36-Ball Century as Bihar Shine in Vijay Hazare Trophy Opener
14 Year Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Blasts 36-Ball Century, Becomes One of the Fastest List A Centurions
India, Dec 24 : India’s teenage batting prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, made waves in domestic cricket once again by smashing a 36-ball century for Bihar in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Plate league opener against Arunachal Pradesh at the JSCA Oval Ground on Wednesday.
The 14 year old’s innings of 190 off 84 balls, including a 150-run mark reached in just 54 deliveries, has become the second-fastest List A century by an Indian male cricketer, following Punjab’s Anmolpreet Singh’s 35-ball ton last season. Globally, this effort ranks as the joint-fourth fastest century in List A cricket history. Bihar were 379/2 in 39 overs at the time of his dismissal.
Earlier this month, Suryavanshi had scored an unbeaten 108 off 61 balls against Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, becoming the youngest centurion in the tournament’s history at 14 years and 250 days. His remarkable form also includes a record-breaking 171 off 95 balls in the U19 Asia Cup against UAE, and a blazing 144 off 42 balls for India A in the Rising Stars Asia Cup, hitting 11 fours and 15 sixes.
Suryavanshi’s exploits extend internationally, with a memorable century against Australia U19 in Brisbane during a Youth Test match in November, cementing his status as one of cricket’s most promising young talents.
Instagram recently recognised his journey, spotlighting him on its official page, making him only the second Indian cricketer after Virat Kohli to receive this honour.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to rewrite the record books, leaving cricket enthusiasts eager to witness his rise on the national and international stage.
