Jammu University Staff Found Dead by Hanging Near Mathematics Department
Section Officer Balwan Singh, 57, found lifeless; police launch investigation
JAMMU, Jan 22: A Jammu University employee was found hanging near the Mathematics Department on Thursday, causing shock among students and staff.
The deceased has been identified as Balwan Singh, 57, a resident of Hiranagar, who served as a Section Officer (SO) in the MBA Department. He was staying in the university staff quarters at the time of the incident.
A team from Police Post Nehru Market reached the spot after receiving information and shifted him to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body has been moved to the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to the incident.
