Air Travel Resumes in Kashmir After Disruptions

Air travel in Kashmir resumes as Srinagar airport clears snow, though low visibility may cause initial delays.

Srinagar, Jan 28 : Flight operations at Srinagar International Airport resumed on Wednesday following a day-long suspension due to heavy snowfall in the region, officials said. The first flight landed at 9:25 am, and authorities expect operations to continue normally if weather conditions remain stable.

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) confirmed that the runway, taxiway, and apron have been cleared of snow and are ready for use. However, visibility remains low due to haze, prompting airlines and airport staff to closely monitor conditions.

Passengers are advised to anticipate possible delays during the initial phase of operations and to stay updated through official airline communications. Authorities emphasized that flight schedules may adjust depending on changing weather conditions.
