Tragic Road Mishap in Uttarakhand: Himachal Roadways Bus Plunges into Gorge in Dehradun
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami monitors relief efforts as SDRF teams rush to accident site
Himachal, Jan 03 : A Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus carrying passengers fell into a deep gorge in the Kalsi area of Dehradun district, Uttarakhand, on Tuesday, prompting immediate rescue operations.
Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the site to conduct search and rescue, while local authorities coordinated relief efforts. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said medical teams in the region have been put on high alert, with arrangements ready to airlift severely injured passengers to advanced healthcare facilities if required.
“We have received the distressing news about the HRTC bus accident on Kuanu-Meenas Motor Road in Kalsi. The district administration and police have launched relief and rescue operations, and all nearby medical centers are on high alert. My prayers are with the passengers,” the CM posted on X.
