Hindu Groups Stage Washington Protest Over Bangladesh Rights Concerns
Hindus Protest in Washington Over Bangladesh Human Rights Concerns
Bangladesh, Feb 10 : Demonstrators Urge Stronger US Action
Members of the Hindu community, joined by human rights advocates, staged a peaceful protest outside the US State Department in Washington, calling for stronger measures against what they described as persecution of religious minorities in Bangladesh.
Despite cold weather, protesters assembled with banners and placards demanding justice and accountability. Speakers at the gathering appealed to US officials, international institutions, and global rights organisations to intervene and address the situation.
Call for Accountability and Legal Action
Srikanth Akunuri of Hindu Action urged American authorities to take decisive steps to halt alleged abuses and ensure those responsible are held accountable. He called for prosecution “to the fullest extent of the law” either in the United States or through international judicial mechanisms such as the International Court of Justice.
The demonstration highlighted growing concern among advocacy groups seeking greater international attention to minority rights in Bangladesh.
