Google CEO Sundar Pichai Meets PM Modi During AI Impact Summit Visit
New Delhi, Feb 18: Sundar Pichai called on Narendra Modi in the national capital on Wednesday during his visit for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where he is scheduled to deliver the keynote address on February 20.
Pichai arrived in New Delhi earlier this week and shared his enthusiasm about returning to India for the global gathering focused on artificial intelligence.
The five day summit, being held at Bharat Mandapam from February 16 to 20, has brought together policymakers, technology leaders, researchers, industry experts and civil society representatives from across the world to deliberate on innovation, governance and real-world applications of AI.
Positioned as the first major global AI summit hosted in the Global South, the event underscores India’s push to shape international cooperation on emerging technologies. The deliberations are anchored around the theme of AI for Humanity and guided by three foundational pillars People, Planet and Progress aimed at promoting human centric, sustainable and inclusive technological advancement.
In a separate interaction, the Prime Minister highlighted the transformative role of artificial intelligence in strengthening India’s IT sector. He noted that AI driven innovation and automation could propel the industry to a projected size of $400 billion by 2030, creating new growth avenues in services and domain-specific solutions.
With participation from over 110 countries, 30 international organisations, nearly 20 Heads of State or Government, and about 45 ministers, the summit marks a significant step in advancing global dialogue on the responsible development and governance of artificial intelligence.
