Moderate Rain Likely Along TN Western Ghats, Dry Spell Elsewhere
RMC predicts isolated showers in hilly districts over next two days stable weather to prevail across most of Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu, Feb 23 : The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has predicted light to moderate rainfall in parts of the Western Ghats region of Tamil Nadu over the next two days, while the remainder of the state is expected to witness largely dry weather.
According to the latest bulletin, isolated locations in the hill districts and adjoining areas may receive brief spells of rain today and tomorrow. However, no widespread precipitation is anticipated.
Dry Spell Across Majority of State
Most other regions of Tamil Nadu, along with the Union Territory of Puducherry and its Karaikal enclave, are likely to remain dry. Weather officials said the absence of significant synoptic systems has led to stable atmospheric conditions across the state.
Looking ahead, moderate rainfall has been forecast for parts of southern Tamil Nadu on February 26, though activity is expected to be confined to select districts.
Temperature Outlook and Chennai Forecast
No major temperature variations are expected in the coming days, although a slight rise in daytime readings cannot be ruled out. Maximum temperatures are projected to remain close to seasonal averages.
In Chennai, skies are expected to be partly cloudy, with the possibility of light mist in isolated pockets during early morning hours. The maximum temperature is likely to range between 33°C and 34°C, while the minimum may hover between 24°C and 25°C.
Meteorological authorities have advised residents in the Western Ghats belt to stay alert for brief showers, particularly in elevated terrain, while assuring that no major disruptions are currently anticipated.
