BJP Targets Priyanka Gandhi with ‘Female Ghajini’ Jibe Over Gaza Comments
Party accuses Congress leader of selective outrage, contrasting Gaza comments with October 7 Israel attacks
NEW DELHI, Feb 25 : The BJP on Wednesday took a swipe at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, dubbing her the “female Ghajini of Indian politics,” after she called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to raise the Gaza conflict while addressing the Israeli Parliament. The BJP accused Gandhi of showing selective outrage by highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza while overlooking the October 7 attacks in Israel.
The jibe references the 2008 Bollywood film character Ghajini, known for short-term memory loss, implying that Gandhi forgets certain events while focusing on others. Priyanka Gandhi, in a post on X, urged PM Modi to demand justice for the victims in Gaza and emphasized India’s commitment to truth, peace, and justice globally.
Responding sharply, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia wrote, “The Female Ghajini of Indian politics is back!” He shared a picture of Gandhi carrying a bag emblazoned with “Palestine” and questioned her moral courage to condemn the October 7 massacre in Israel, which left over 1,200 people dead and many women abducted or raped.
Bhatia added, “You might carry the Gandhi surname, but you clearly lack the conviction and the courage. #SelectiveOutrage,” asserting that rising above votebank politics is necessary to condemn such acts.
PM Modi’s two day visit to Israel, beginning Wednesday, focuses on strengthening bilateral defence and trade ties. This marks his second visit to Israel in nine years.
