PM Raises Performance Bar for Cabinet Colleagues
PM Sets High Reform Targets for Cabinet Under Vision 2047 Roadmap
New Delhi, Feb 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed his Cabinet colleagues to draft comprehensive reform blueprints for their respective ministries, setting the tone for an accelerated push toward long-term national development goals.
The move is part of the government’s broader PM reform agenda 2047, aimed at simplifying procedures, enhancing ease of doing business, and expanding technology driven governance. Officials said ministers have been asked to personally prepare detailed notes outlining future initiatives and key achievements, which will be presented before the Union Cabinet.
The Cabinet Secretariat has circulated a structured format requiring ministries to specify reform priorities, implementation timelines, and expected outcomes. The Prime Minister has emphasized that each department must focus immediately on measurable changes that deliver visible results on the ground.
Speaking at a post-Budget webinar on “Technology, Reforms and Finance for Viksit Bharat,” Modi outlined three major priorities for the coming decade: sustained structural reforms to boost competitiveness, deeper innovation across technology and manufacturing, and further simplification of governance to enhance trust and efficiency.
He also proposed the creation of a “Reform Partnership Charter” to foster collaboration among government, industry, financial institutions, and academia. According to the Prime Minister, coordinated efforts among stakeholders will ensure that policy announcements translate into tangible progress, supporting India’s ambition of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
