Trisha Krishnan Breaks Silence Amid Vijay Divorce Controversy
Actor addresses criticism on social media as debate intensifies over comments made at an awards event and ongoing legal dispute involving Vijay.
Chennai: Actor Trisha Krishnan has responded to criticism circulating online as speculation around her alleged connection to actor Vijay’s ongoing divorce case continues to attract public attention.
The renewed discussion emerged after Trisha and Vijay were seen attending the wedding of film producer Kalpathi Agoram, who is associated with AGS Entertainment and the upcoming film “GOAT”. Their appearance at the same event triggered fresh speculation linked to claims made earlier by Vijay’s estranged wife, Sangeetha, in the course of their legal dispute.
The situation escalated following remarks made by filmmaker and actor R. Parthiban during the Galatta Awards ceremony. When Trisha’s name and image appeared on screen during the event, Parthiban made a light-hearted comment referencing Kundavai, the character portrayed by Trisha in the “Ponniyin Selvan” films. His remark suggesting that “Kundavai” should remain at home for a few days drew criticism from some viewers, who considered it inappropriate.
Responding on social media, Trisha clarified that her photograph and name had been included in a segment of the awards ceremony at the last minute after a request from someone associated with the event. She also wrote that possessing a microphone does not automatically make a person witty or intelligent, suggesting that public comments should be made responsibly.
Although the actor did not mention Parthiban directly, many observers interpreted her message as a response to the remarks made during the awards function.
Meanwhile, Vijay, who is currently involved in divorce proceedings with Sangeetha, recently addressed his supporters at a political gathering on March 7. Without referring to specific allegations, he asked followers not to be distracted by personal matters and urged them to focus on broader public issues.
In a recent development in the legal case, Sangeetha has filed a petition requesting permission to continue residing in the couple’s matrimonial home in Neelankarai until the court proceedings are concluded. In her filing, she has accused Vijay of emotional neglect and cruelty, and referred to a relationship she claims to have discovered in 2021 that allegedly led to the breakdown of their marriage.
The case remains under legal consideration as public interest around the personal lives of the actors continues to grow across social media and entertainment circles.
