Sara Arjun’s Father Issues Statement Over Viral Fake Post on Yash’s ‘Toxic’
Clarification issued after fake social media message surfaced using the tagline “No toxicity, only Dhurandhar.”
Mumbai: A social media controversy has emerged ahead of the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, prompting actor Sara Arjun’s father to issue a clarification regarding a viral post that appeared to mock the delayed release of Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.
The post, which circulated online using the phrase “No toxicity, only Dhurandhar,” suggested that it was shared by Sara Arjun. However, her father dismissed the message as fake and urged fans not to believe or spread such content.
In a statement shared on social media, he clarified that the 20-year-old actor does not use the platform X (formerly Twitter). He said any account carrying her name on the platform should be treated as fake.
He also emphasised that Sara has always been taught to respect fellow artists and films within the industry. According to him, she would never promote her work by speaking negatively about another project or actor.
The statement further noted that the film industry functions like a close-knit community, and spreading misleading information harms that environment. Sara is currently active only on Instagram, her father added, urging fans to verify information before sharing it online.
The clarification comes days before promotional activities intensify for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, an action film starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Sara Arjun plays Yalina Jameel, the girlfriend of Singh’s character Hamza Ali Mazari, and is expected to have a significant presence in the storyline.
A brief moment featuring Sara holding a gun in the film’s trailer has already drawn attention from viewers and sparked discussion among fans.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Rakesh Bedi, along with several other supporting actors.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026. The film had earlier been expected to clash at the box office with Yash’s Toxic, but the latter’s release was postponed, easing the anticipated competition between the two projects.
