Los Angeles: Actor Rebecca Gayheart was recently seen removing personal belongings of her late husband Eric Dane from a Los Angeles residence owned by actor Johnny Depp, weeks after Dane’s death following complications related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Gayheart was photographed leaving the property located above the Sunset Strip on March 4, carrying a box labelled “Eric Yearbooks Kids Photos” along with a black guitar case. The items appeared to include personal mementos connected to the actor’s life and his family.
Despite their separation in 2018, Gayheart and Dane remained legally married. Reports indicate that divorce proceedings were paused in 2025 as Dane’s health deteriorated, reflecting the continued bond between the two while raising their daughters, Billie, 16, and Georgia, 14.
Johnny Depp reportedly offered support during Dane’s illness by allowing him to stay at the Los Angeles home without financial pressure. According to people familiar with the arrangement, the gesture helped ease some of the practical concerns the actor faced while dealing with the progressive neurological condition.
Dane, widely known for portraying Dr. Mark Sloan in the television series Grey’s Anatomy, publicly revealed his ALS diagnosis less than a year before his death. He died on February 19, 2026, at the age of 53 due to respiratory complications associated with the disease.
The actor and Gayheart married in 2004 and maintained a cooperative co-parenting relationship following their separation.
