Air India Express Plane Develops Nose-Wheel Fault At Phuket Airport
Runway operations briefly halted as passengers safely deplaned after landing
Mumbai, Mar 11: An Air India Express flight operating from Hyderabad to Phuket encountered a technical issue with its nose wheel after landing at Phuket International Airport on Wednesday, the airline confirmed.
According to officials, the aircraft experienced the problem soon after touching down, leading airport authorities to temporarily suspend flight operations as the plane remained stationary on the runway.
The airline said the crew followed all standard safety procedures and ensured that passengers were safely deplaned from the aircraft. The exact number of passengers on board the Boeing 737 MAX 8 was not immediately available.
Flight IX 938 departed from Hyderabad at around 6:42 am, slightly later than its scheduled departure time of 6:20 am, and arrived at Phuket at approximately 11:40 am local time, according to data from flight tracking platform Flightradar24.
Air India Express stated that the nose wheel, which is a crucial part of the aircraft’s landing gear system, developed the issue after landing. Further inspection and necessary procedures were being carried out following the incident.
