Street theatre performance highlights need for social awakening in youth
- “Parivartan Jaroori Hai” calls for moral change and responsible parenting
JAMMU,16-03-2026: Ek Sath Rangmandal today presented its 508th Monday Theatre performance with a new progressive nukad natak titled “Parivartan Jaroori Hai” at Floriculture Public Park, B.C. Road, K.C. Morh, Jammu. The performance delivered a strong social message on the urgent need for positive change in individual attitude, behaviour, habits and character, while also highlighting the growing danger of drug addiction among the youth.
The play underlined that change is an essential part of life and that real progress begins when a person changes his or her thinking, approach and conduct. Through a meaningful and thought-provoking presentation, the artists conveyed that many harmful habits and negative influences can be defeated if an individual adopts a disciplined, honest and responsible way of life.
A central character in the play, Tota Ram, portrayed as an educated and socially conscious citizen, appealed to the younger generation to stay away from drug addiction and other destructive habits for the sake of a bright and secure future. He stressed that wrong friendships and bad company can gradually ruin a person’s character, honour, reputation and daily life. The message of the play was clear that before developing close associations, one must carefully observe, understand and judge the values and conduct of others.
The performance also carried an important appeal to parents, especially mothers and elders in the family, to remain vigilant about the company their children keep and the activities they get involved in. It called upon families to guide the younger generation with care, values and discipline so that they remain protected from social evils and harmful influences.
The nukad natak further urged people to adopt a positive attitude towards parents, respect family values and live an honest and socially responsible life. It encouraged the audience to reject the many evils gradually affecting society and instead become part of a healthy and constructive transformation.
The performance was well received by the people present at the venue, who appreciated the relevance of the theme and the strong acting by the artists. The audience particularly praised the effort of using street theatre as a medium to create awareness on issues affecting society and the youth.
