Racing Sensation Atiqa Mir Concludes WSK Series as Top Ranked Female Competitor

11 year old racing prodigy shines in Italy, securing highest-ranked female and best Indian driver honors

Franciacorta, Italy, Mar 26: Indian racing sensation Atiqa Mir concluded her campaign in the WSK Super Masters with an impressive eighth place finish out of 53 drivers in Round 5, cementing her status as the highest ranked female competitor in the premier karting championship.

At just 11 years old, Atiqa made a strategic switch from the mini (ages 8–12) to the junior (12–14) category at the start of 2026, demonstrating remarkable talent throughout the five-round series. Racing in the OK-NJ class, she became the first Indian supported by the Formula 1 Academy also emerged as the best-performing Indian driver.

The young racer, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, had previously out-qualified notable competitors like Mercedes Junior Nicolo Perico, proving her ability to contend with some of the world’s best karting talent despite limited experience in Italian racing conditions.

Reflecting on her WSK stint, Atiqa said, “I’ve learnt a lot and am a better driver today than when I started in January. I’m grateful for the opportunity to compete at such a high level and want to thank my sponsor RAISE for making this possible.”

The Franciacorta round reaffirmed Atiqa Mir’s status as a rising star in international karting, demonstrating that she can match and even surpass elite competition at a young age.
