PM Modi Offers Prayers to Lord Ram, Performs Surya Tilak Ceremony at Ayodhya Ram Temple Virtually

Prime Minister virtually observes celestial tilak on Ram Lalla idol as Ayodhya celebrates Ram Navami

New Delhi, Mar 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday offered prayers to Lord Ram and virtually observed the Surya Tilak ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on the occasion of Ram Navami.

The temple witnessed the ‘Surya Tilak’ at exactly noon, when a beam of sunlight fell precisely on the forehead of Ram Lalla, forming a celestial tilak. Priests performed rituals and offered prayers to the deity during this auspicious moment.

The event marked the culmination of the nine day festival of Chaitra Navratri, dedicated to honouring the nine incarnations of Goddess Shakti, with Ram Navami celebrating the birth of Lord Ram. Devotees across India observe fasting, prayers, and meditation during this period, following sattvic dietary practices and abstaining from alcohol and smoking.

Ayodhya saw a massive turnout of devotees visiting the temple, prompting heightened security measures. ADG Lucknow Zone, Praveen Kumar, stated that drones and an extensive CCTV network are being used to ensure the safety of pilgrims. “Proper security arrangements have been made to manage the large influx of devotees,” Kumar added.

Ram Navami continues to be celebrated with great devotion nationwide, especially in the sacred city of Ayodhya, where rituals and festivities honour the divine incarnation of Lord Ram.
